Well, if we look at what a family is now compared to what it was a nuclear family 50 years ago or 10 years ago, never mind 50 years ago, the whole makeup of our society and community is different.
So there are different relationships and all these relationships are valid.
They once upon a time hardly got a look in.
But it's unfair to say if a person receives a benefit from a person, another person, it doesn't have to be a related person.
And that's actually another important point in it that the law at the moment is in favour of making sure every legacy goes to a family member because there's preferential treatment for that family member.

And that's unfair.
So in itself, if the numbers, if it's affecting a small number or a big number, it's still an unfairness.
And we're talking about the whole principle of righting a wrong and making it correct and letting and encouraging the parser be to say,
Yes, it is wrong and we will correct it.
And we will work with creative solutions to pay for it.
And it is valid to have to pay for fairness in our society.
Well, it does.
And it's what we would have encouraged and raised as a solution, that it makes it fair.
You know, the fairness is a very strong motivation for our campaign group to see that it is a correct and impartial law.
And Bridget, you made a point earlier which I thought was interesting.
Have you ever noticed that?
Well, I have.
I mean, one could say since civil marriage has come into law as well, now there is an even bigger cohort of people who are protected because they're
they are now allowed to dispose of their wealth to each other as spouses and the surviving spouse has no tax to pay.
