Today the models are good enough.
There's really not much of a gap anymore between the best model and the one that came out two versions ago.
There aren't specific tasks, but in terms of what we need to do as a business, you can use legacy models at this point and get a real differentiator.
What matters now is that orchestration.
Again, engineers are doing great at that, and it's starting to permeate in other areas.
But understanding how context is structured, how to use it to shape better responses, how to develop automations built off that orchestration is really critical.
Those are qualitative judgments that depend on domain expertise, on knowing what a great customer interaction actually looks like, on recognizing when a response is technically correct, but strategically correct.
wrong.
That's not an engineering problem.
That's a product problem, a design problem, a domain knowledge problem.
If your AI program is being run exclusively by technical people,
you're optimizing for the wrong thing.
The value of an AI product is no longer in the horsepower behind it.
It's in the orchestration and the response quality on top of it.
Non-technicals don't just belong in the room.
They are going to be the difference.
Second, your adoption gains will plateau.
Every organization that has run a real AI program for more than 18 months is discovering this.
The early wins were large and visible.
The next layer is a series of 1% improvements distributed across the entire system.
