I think there's a little bit of a moment with most of those artists where I wonder how much of it is just literally fatigue.

You know, like I've already been working for 20 plus years, in some cases, 30 years, touring constantly, being this hustle.

The industry has never changed more quickly in those, in the last two decades.

You know, it's a lot of those artists, you

either started right as physical media sort of started to become non-existent or just as streaming was just starting to become a thing.

So they had to keep maintaining in a way that other artists in previous eras didn't have to think about or didn't have to keep up with.

So they had to learn in that real time that the money was now coming from touring and from the merchandising and from doing other things.

Is that in here factoring possibly anywhere?

Yeah, I mean, no one wants to be a flop, you know?

No one wants to...

feel like their time is done.

But I think there's a finality to how we talk about these things sometimes, especially because it's like Stan culture online is so toxic and everything's like, okay, you didn't sell enough or you're selling less than last time.

And obviously this was a pretty significant drop versus a single not doing super well compared to the last single.

But we are in a culture where it never really is over and those chances continue to exist.

You know, I think we we sort of yearn to watch someone fail in a way like we kind of like watching the women fail in some way to like with it.

I think there's a lot of that actually, like in terms of pop culture and how we think of female pop stars and how we kind of monitor their success a little bit more than we monitor the men's success.

But, you know, I think that's a that's a part of it, too.

Oh, I've been really bumping American life.

I think with someone like Madonna, the thing with her is perfection is never the goal.
