We actually spent six months doing pure customer research and diving into...
do people even want to be an investor?
What does investing mean to them?
How does money play in their lives?
Do they have positive or negative relationships with it?
What does superannuation mean to them?
Do they feel like an investor with that?
And we got heaps of rich insight from doing real ethnographic interviews.
So that's like in-depth 101 interviews along with
a broad survey to get heaps of insight.
And essentially we learned a lot of things, but I can boil down the four that really stick with me, which is 99.5% of people want to be an investor.
So, you know, this is 2016, 2017, like people wanted to be an investor.
They wanted to feel like that's an ambition, you know, it's something,
they wanted, but they felt like they couldn't because of three key things.
They felt priced out, that you needed to have heaps of money or needed to invest, you know, heaps of money and even to just get started.
Jargoned out, like there's so much jargon in the finance world.
It felt like, oh, I need to know heaps.
I needed a degree in that to even, you know, get started.
nobody really speaks in everyday language.
