Musk's friends didn't have enough cash.
And so when it comes to who owned it beforehand, it's Musk, it's all the private shareholders, it's the big venture capital firms, it's private equity, it's all of the investors that have funded SpaceX or that company to that point in time.
So it's twofold.
You have existing shareholders who are selling some of their stock, but what happens is the company will also create new shares.
And so it's actually, it's called primary and secondary.
So primary shares are new shares that the company creates.
And so they go to public market investors and say,
We have 100 million shares that we're going to put on offer and you have the ability to buy those shares.
Okay.
But at the same time, I think in SpaceX example, they said people could sell their stock as well.
So employees, investors, if they wanted to sell to the public market, they could do that as well.
Okay.
So it's a mix of both, but primarily it's the offer of new shares, primary shares.
And that's why I always hear, you know, SpaceX minted 400 millionaires.
The cleaning people.
It's because throughout the journey, they've either been given stock through rewards of working there or they've been able to buy stock as they went.
And so now they be able to sell that stock to someone else.
It's an incredible dance that goes on.
And so what happens is companies will employ investment banks to go out there and they will try and get interest from investors to determine what the price should be.
And so they say, look, we have 100 million shares that we're going to go out at.
