I just didn't see anything coming together.

And you like to see some stuff start to happen in the month of November.

They were able to kind of stay competitive.

But the biggest issue for me was couldn't find a way to win three in a row.

Mm-hmm.

Now, the one thing that I always worry about, I don't worry so much about winning streaks.

I worry about keeping the losing skids to three or less in a row.

If you can do that, you're probably going to be pretty good.

But they just couldn't seem to click.

It just didn't seem to work.

So when people were asking me around Christmas time last year, what do you think?

Are they going to make the postseason?

I really couldn't give them a straight answer at that point.

I didn't really know.

And I kept waiting and waiting and waiting.

And it just never seemed to click for me the entire way through the season.

Going into the postseason in that playoff series against Anaheim, I had a bad feeling about it.

I thought Anaheim was playing very, very well.

And they looked hungry.

The Oilers just looked like they didn't have it last season.
