We all get calls from people we know all across the country who are asking, so what are you guys doing there?

And it was just, it made you shake your head over the whole thing with Chris Knobloch and obviously Mike Babcock.

And then, of course, there was all the negativity about Babs.

And so there just seemed to be this negative vibe hanging around the hockey club.

And that's what took us all the way into the draft.

And then I think things started to change a little bit.

Didn't you feel that way?

Well, a couple of things.

One, the get together with the leadership group was so important, right?

The thing that I liked out of all of the discussions that they seemed to have or what we've been hearing that they were having was the fact that he went back at them.

And I kind of like that because at times I felt maybe it was a little country club atmosphere with a hockey club.

I don't know if that's fair to say or not.

That's just my take on it.

And I think it's going to be a much different ball game with Mike Babcock at the helm.

But the fact that if it's true that he looked at the leaders on this hockey club and said, look, I'm going to need more from you as well, not just the other guys.

I can't worry about the bottom six.

I got to worry about make sure that the top six guys are going full speed ahead and maybe you're part of the problem.

I just think that it was a real awakening on the part of the leadership group and an awakening, hopefully an awakening on the part of Mike Babcock, who's getting a great opportunity to step into a situation that he could probably take quite far here.

Because we know he's a capable coach.
