There's this one epithelial barrier hypothesis which says that
that the chemicals we use and that are in the air are making, are kind of making us more porous to allergens.
You know, they're like weakening the things that protect us in our skin and in our lungs.
And so where it's more easy for allergens to get into our bodies.
So there's all kinds of hypotheses, but we do know.

Well, I mean, I talked to this guy, Jeff Wilson, at the University of Virginia.
He's done a lot of really good alpha-DL research.
And one thing he talks about is, look, tick bites of all kinds just boost antibody levels across the board, right?
And the interesting thing is that you can have really high antibody levels and not have any allergies.
And weird things can trigger it, like stress can trigger it.
you can get this called chronic eukaryitis or something.
I got the name wrong, but it works where you have these sudden flare-ups of hives or rashes, you know?
And you've had this kind of baseline of antibodies in your blood the whole time, and something is triggering it.
You know, it could be exercise, it can be alcohol, though we know those things can trigger allergic reactions faster.
