Where you go, like I was one on the border, on the Arkansas border, Oklahoma border.

And the weekend I went, there were 900 chickens fighting.

And you know, and those birds, and that was just a pure bedding scene, you know, and they're birds,

they're getting these big blades on them, they're going in, they're tearing each other apart, people are betting on them.

And you walked around backstage at those places, and they were just trash cans filled with these dead birds.

And this is clandestine.

You know, in Louisiana, it wasn't.

When I went in 2000, it was still legal.

Now, in 2008, it became illegal in the whole country.

And in 2018, even the territories, even Puerto Rico and Guam,

It's illegal.

So it's become, so it was still legal in a couple of places when I went.

Well, that was a waste...

in that big pit was like all those birds are so injected with weird stuff that you can't eat them, right?

And it was a big tradition in Louisiana.

You'd make a sauce de brie piquante, you know, like the spicy sauce.

And you would eat your rooster that died after it was part of the ceremony, part of the tradition, you know?

And I think once all these things happened with drugs, that kind of fell away.

So that's part of what was lost.
