Maybe people get it there, but it's not that widespread.
And then I started to realize, no, it's actually,
those ticks have moved all the way west to the Rockies, and they're spreading and multiplying, so it's becoming a much huger thing than it was.
Well, it's both, really.
In this country, I mean, if you look worldwide, alpha-gal is all over the world now.
More than 30 countries, six continents.
And in all these countries, all these continents, it's carried by different ticks.
Like the bont tick in South Africa, the castor bean tick in Europe.
In this country, it's carried by lone star ticks, almost exclusively.
And the lone star tick used to be pretty much contained in the southeast, like up until 19...
they didn't really go past north of Virginia.
Okay.
And now you look at the CDC map of Lone Star ticks, and they're all the way to the Oklahoma Panhandle, they're all the way to Maine, they're all the way to, you know, northern Michigan.
So they, with climate change, and especially with the kind of wetter conditions that often come with climate change, they've kind of followed those and spread all across the country.
And they're so aggressive and so bold and resilient that they've done really well wherever they've gone.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
No, it's true.
I mean, Lyme disease, babesiosis, anaplasmosis, ehrlichiosis, all the major tick-borne diseases are, you know, they're bacteria, they're parasites.
Alpha-gal is different.
And it's different in two ways.
