So anyway, that was, and he was perfect for me because when I knew him in high school, he was kind of a layabout.
He was a guy who just didn't care, mate.
probably made C's and D's, smart, funny guy.
Yeah, right.
I like that.
But then when I met him again in this context... He was on fire.
He was on fire, and he knew his shit, and he was funny, and he was capable, and he was a great plumber, and he was also this guy.
So he... Anyways, it was great.
and refreshing in a way that, you know, like I've spent the last almost 50 years, 45 years of my life on the East coast, you know, and, and in cities and, and almost everybody I interviewed for, for most stories is kind of media ready.
They're kind of prepared their spiel, right.
And they kind of know how to narrate their life and they,
They think they're gonna be the next person on Survivor or whatever.
We kind of all package ourselves for ourselves.
And when I'm talking to the coon hunters or the cockfighters, those guys, they had never been interviewed by people before.
And that was exciting to them to have someone be truly interested in what they're doing.
And truly interested at the level of not just like, how many chickens died?
You know, it's like, what do you feed them?
How do you exercise them?
What's the history of this thing?
How did you get into it?
