Let me just tell you kind of what I mean by that.
He has uh the first set of chapters, and they're really creative, believe me.
Uh the first chapter is called a human god.
The second chapter or unit is called a human life.
The third section of the book is called a human death.
And the fourth section of the book is called a human future.
A human God, a human life that he lived, a human death that he died, a horrible death.
And it looks at Lazarus and Jerusalem and the Last Supper and the Cross, dead and buried.
Great chapters on that.
I've dipped ahead to them.
And then a human future, he looks at resurrection and ascension and Pentecost.
Uh throughout the book he draws on the themes and it's the last great chapter too of God's own vulnerability that to become human he had to be willing to suffer.
And so there is something about the suffering God, the God who dies, the vulnerable one.
That makes it particularly poignant for any of us.
Who are going through hard times.
Which is to say, all of us, right?
We are all human.
We all feel pain.
We all feel the brokenness of our world, whether it's our bodily sickness, whether it's the relational sadness in our families, or whether it's the horror of the war in Ukraine and Palestine or wherever.
