I can't imagine how many years he spent uh filing notes about these things and finally putting them together in a book.
Uh, one of his very, very early books was a simple book called Basic Christianity, which looked at the gospel of
Uh Matthew, I think, just a nice little introduction to who Jesus was in light of one of the gospels.
Um, so he started off with the person of Jesus and near the end of his life, he continued to write after this.
This was not his last book, but it's sort of his last m one of his last major books.
Um and I highly, highly uh respect this book and love this book.
Well, it's a great fall day here, but these are books that are gonna last you for months and months.
It's not something you could just read 'em quick.
These are resources that can be affecting your understanding of who the person of Jesus is.
And if you're a person of faith listening to this, maybe you aren't, but if you're a person of faith listening to this of Christian faith.
You know that the person of Jesus is the heart of all we do.
So everybody should buy a couple of books about Jesus every year of their life.
Continue to read the gospels, continue to read the Bible, but continue to read what God's people have done, reflecting the depth and depth and depth and depth of who this person of Jesus was and what difference he makes in our life.
So uh this is not some one-off thing that you buy one book once.
I think it should be a Christian discipline to be studying the person of Jesus for the rest of our lives.
Uh and so these are good, good tools that'll get you going to build your library.
