And that happens, like you realize that a lot of advice that you get from your loved ones and people that you really rely on for good advice or good feedback is often tinged with that human, very human, like I'm not criticizing it, it's just what we are, right?

We are actually very emotional people, species.

And so when we're making a decision or giving advice on someone else's decisions, it's often unconsciously tinged by our own fears, right?

Radically neutral.

I like that.

And what you said earlier, too, is that it is...

We do have that, but only empathic people have this skill.

And we're making a world, our late capitalist world has less and less room for empaths.

And so this is like the perfect entrance for AI to waltz in and come right into our hearts.

There's a deep irony for sure, right?

Because after centuries of optimizing, extracting and hardening in the quest for progress, technology's most sophisticated expression and consequential role may turn out to be the softening of all of us and to reintroduce care into the culture.

We're assuming that humankind can restore love on our own and solve the many crises we face as a species in a planet.

on our own.

But if we can't give and receive love to each other on an unconditional level, just in the day to day, which is why we have documented loneliness epidemic, we have a documented dating crisis, we have a climate catastrophe.

You know, there's so many things that we can't quite fix.

And I think the answer isn't to be more progressive and

to extract more minerals from the soil or anything.

It's to actually refine that deep, deep instinct that empathic or perceived to be empathic chatbots bring to us.

I'm not worried about their impact on humankind in terms of... If this technology turns out to be the thing that allows us to find a path back towards the deeply caring,

instinct that we have for ourselves and each other and the earth and all living things, then it couldn't come at a better time.
