And I did not find that to be the case when I had my abortion.
I had an abortion at 12 weeks.
And I mean, I, you know, I jokingly say in the book that it genuinely took me longer to decide what work to have in my kitchen than it did to have an abortion because I knew I couldn't be a mother again.
I know what a serious thing is.
I know what commitment that is.
That is the rest of your life.
And when you know what it will take and you can't do it, that's a really quick decision to make.
You're just like, I can't do this properly.
I revere this role and I can't do it properly again.
Yes.
So the format of the book was each chapter was it starts chronologically from my 13th birthday, where I just realised I'd been chased by boys and I'm just wearing a crocheted poncho and they're just calling me a fat lesbian.
And I just sort of go home and I go, I don't know how to be a woman.
And so every chapter is then something that happens in my life.
First boyfriend, first love, sex, masturbation, abortion, miscarriage, marriage, bad relationships that happened to me in my life.
And it starts with a vignette and then it goes, okay, let's pick apart here.
What's happening here?
Why are these the big things that happen in women's lives?
What is the information that we have at the moment?
Is that correct?
Should we be thinking about these things differently?
