I get inspired.
And that could be all the time I need to spend on Instagram.
So once you realize why you're using these tools, you can really get much more specific about how you actually use them.
I'm a big proponent of time blocking.
So I look at my day and I say, what do I want to do during my workday?
And I make a plan for it.
So what I'm doing is just executing that plan.
And if I'm tired, that plan is going to have a lot less work than a day when maybe I have a lot of energy.
I'm going to put more work in it.
I'm pretty careful about balancing out.
OK, hard thinking should probably be earlier in the day for me.
If I have smaller pockets of time, I'll either leave them empty or have something like go for a walk or I'll put a bunch of small stuff in there.
Like, okay, great.
Now I can do these little small tasks I don't have to think about.
Why don't I wait till later in the day when I'm tired?
But the key to my thinking about time is to make a plan in advance as opposed to just keep asking, okay, what next?
When we just keep asking, okay, what do I want to do next?
We end up this on-demand style of scheduling tends to create schedules that not only are not very productive, but also tend to be exhausting and we fall behind on things and we're not balancing well, rest with work.
