I mean, I look at, for example, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, and then other counties, and there is a significant element that

It gravitates to those areas simply because the leniency that's shown or the lack of cooperation with ICE.

So I think this is a very dangerous direction to go in.

My personal experience as well as I think statistics bear that out.

And I think lack of cooperation with ICE in many circumstances can ultimately be a public safety issue, which would ultimately tie their hands in situation which would make us a less safe community.

Now, do I think that different things could not be done at a national level or within the current

process I'm sure there are and I think that's somewhat what is being reacted to by a lot of folks across the country but the truth of the matter is to make broad sweeping statements like this that are based on some and you know obviously we've seen some of these these anecdotal situations that have occurred is a very dangerous precedent and it's kind of a knee-jerk reaction which I think it's one thing to say hey we need some reform we need a different

way to handle this, but to limit localities and sheriff's departments and local police departments on how they handle interaction with ICE, especially concerning a lot of the bad actors that we are well aware of that came in under the previous administration for many, many years, I think is very, very dangerous precedent to send.

This board should not be delving into that.

I will, first of all, I want to thank, I'm grateful that we did the resolution on the groundwater today.

I think it's an important thing for us, the county, to continue to look at.

That's why we have been working on this at the county.

we have the ability to do that unfortunately it doesn't look like the state's going to get the study done but chair randall myself and the leadership of mr hemstreet and his staff have been working on this we within the last few weeks met with the town mayors not the mayors there was a few mayors there but basically the town managers to discuss um issues that may be arising in the western loudon in the groundwater situation we are committed and have met with them about and are kind of uh

putting together details to do a detailed and qualified study throughout all of Western Loudoun.

The good news, Loudoun Water was a participant in this.

They did report to us.

They have been monitoring for a number of years a number of the wells that they're responsible for throughout the West, and they are charging very well.
