I missed seeing an older version when I saw it.
Yeah, yeah.
So it must have been.
Okay.
Aye.
Thank you, Madam Chair.
Yeah, I agree with a lot of what our esteemed colleague from Leesburg has said.
This is very broad, first of all.
I think it's one thing to say, hey, we don't necessarily agree with how things are being handled.
We'd like to, you know, whether at a state level or local level, give guidance and recommendations to our local law enforcement.
I think it's really dangerous for us to start stepping in the shoes of law enforcement saying this is how you should
handle things with the national government in dealing with
that may be here, especially those that may be here with violent tendencies, MS-13 members, et cetera.
And really it is a kind of a, it's a policy statement that kind of what we've been talking opposite of us and putting kibosh on kind of local control of law enforcement, those who know best.
I mean, as a former prosecutor who had prosecuted many years, I've also done a lot of defense work.
And in my current position at my law firm,
What I have seen and generally experienced is that you create incentives when you create these sort of carve outs.
And what you do is you create an incentive to kind of be a sanctuary area where, okay, there's limits on what law enforcement is or is not going to do.
And unfortunately,
that will often invite some of the worst criminal elements of the legal population that may have made this, simply because, hey, we're being treated very differently.
