There are ongoing problems, which is what we're trying to address, the noise, the sightliness, the correct location, the setbacks, how they interact or don't interact or shouldn't interact ultimately with residential. podcast-host

And so making sure that industry is included and make sure that we have those 200 data centers that are currently here are able to retrofit and meet the flexibility that is needed. podcast-host

I think we could obviously over-regulate and really hurt ourselves as a county podcast-host

if we don't really provide the right balance as we approach this process. podcast-host

Some people may think that's silly, but it's something that we've come to appreciate and love in data. podcast-host

Obviously, it creates its own problems like any industry, I think, especially big industry when we have large buildings. podcast-host

And I would note that in terms of the DEQ and their concerns, our data was less than 4% of the total pollutants that resulted here in the county. podcast-host

And actually we are one of the top counties in the state in terms of clean air. podcast-host

So I think obviously those things are things that will be looked at through this process, but I'm happy to support this motion with those caveats and concerns going forward as the staff tackles this. podcast-host

So I'm a little concerned about this motion, not because I don't support the general concepts that were spoken on by Supervisor Ciccone, but because one, this motion was sent to me, I didn't see it till this afternoon, about five minutes before walking in here, and I haven't been able to compare it with the map as well as the second motion that will be coming forward. podcast-host
