This is Lake Waccamaw, and it's in North Carolina.
It is a large lake, and this is one of the first of a few features that I want to highlight.
They're called the Carolina Bays.
And this is an oval-shaped lake, and you can see that it's kind of pointing northwest, and this thing is absolutely massive.
And so if you zoom in, I mean, you can see these are houses on the lake with their docks going out.
This is a humongous lake that is an oval, an oval shape pointing off in one particular direction.
Now that's not too crazy.
Until you start to look and you start to see that actually, if you go in this area of North Carolina, there are lots of these oval lakes.
And there are lots of these, and some of them aren't even lakes.
They're all these ovals that are just kind of depressions in the land.
And they're all kind of pointing in the same direction.
And so this is Bladen County, North Carolina, which is where you have, I think the largest concentration of these Carolina bays, and they are everywhere.
You can just see them in all of the landscape.
They're in North Carolina,
but they're not just in North Carolina.
I think this is, this is kind of Northern.
They extend up to Virginia as well, but this is Chowan County, North Carolina.
You've got some there.
That one's a little bit smaller, but still massive, sizes of entire neighborhoods.
oval features, and they're not roads, they're lakes.
