So I think he's tightening up his sequences.
But look, sequencing is all a matter of if you can get the ball to the spot.
If I need this pitch to get to that pitch to get to the other pitch, if the first two pitches aren't close, my sequence is all jacked up.
So he's getting the ball closer to the spot that he needs to get it to.
which if he doesn't induce weak contact early, now he's set a guy up because he's pushed him off the plate.
Now he can go down and away, or he's went down and away, and now he can push him up and in.
He's getting to a spot where he's really focusing on pitching, and it's opening up a lot of holes for him and protecting his other pitches.
The catching aspect of it, Jeff, he looks the part.
I mean, big, strong-looking kid.
Looks like he can handle a big workload.
I've been so impressed with his movements behind the plate.
His blocking has been really solid.
This guy has an absolute cannon for an arm.
It's a very slow-tempo-looking release, but it reminds me a lot of Maldonado in that it was a little bit slower, but he had a ton of arm strength behind it.
I think his average pop time is around 1'9".
And he's thrown out, I think, four runners already trying to steal.
Very, very accurate.
Throws a true ball to second base.
