Well, it really depends on the industry that you're in.

Jobs in tech, finance, law, accounting, those were essentially flat or slightly down in the most recent jobs report.

The other thing I hear, too, it's sort of where you fall on the corporate ladder, right?

Companies always have need for senior leadership.

And they love those relatively inexpensive younger workers.

It's some of the folks in the middle who I hear from the most saying, I'm having a really hard time finding a job.

Now, I'm 15, 20 years into my career.

I'm not C-suite level, but I'm not inexpensive anymore.

I'm kind of an investment for a company and I'm having a harder time getting a job.

There's still something like 8 million unfilled jobs.

That's down from, say, 12 million a couple years ago.

So it's down, but there's still a lot of opportunities out there.

Recruiters I talk to say that a lot of companies just aren't in a hurry to hire in the way that they were.

They didn't have the same influx of projects and work that they needed to staff up to meet right away.

So they are.

They're being very picky, JR.

I'm thinking of a conversation I had with

A fellow named Joseph Jewell, who recruits for the tech sector.

And he was just using an example of a recent opening that he was trying to fill.

And he felt like he had a home run candidate.
