He said it was one of the smartest people he's ever interviewed.
He was sure this person was going to get hired.
And the person got rejected by his client.
And he asked, well, you know, what what gives?
And the client said, well, this candidate was a big picture thinker.
And we really just want somebody who can write strong software code.
We don't think that he'll be satisfied in that role.
Well, they're frustrated.
I mean, that recruiter that I was just talking about told me he wants to like bang his head against the wall when he runs into this kind of situation.
And he says, I meet all these candidates and often think to myself, you should have a job already.
And sometimes, you know, when I talk to the job seekers, I think about the other end of it, too.
I had a conversation recently with a woman named Mickey Scott Parker, and she's been looking for work since January.
She's a project manager.
And she told me, you know, she recently got through a second round interview.
She had been told by a recruiter that an offer was imminent and then it never came.
And that recruiter said, turns out you're too expensive.
You're overqualified for the role.
And she said, then I saw the same job reposted a few days later and they were advertising a wage that was $10 an hour less than what they had originally listed with that position.
So Mickey is frustrated, of course, but imagine being the hiring manager or the recruiter in that position, right?
