Wallaby scrum half Tate McDermott is in a race to be fit for their nation's championship opener against Ireland on the 4th of July.
He hasn't seen any minutes since their defeat to New Zealand during the Rugby Championship back in September after needing to have his hamstring surgically reattached.
McDermott revealed this week that his recovery hasn't been as smooth as he'd hoped and he's not sure he will play any role for the Reds before the Super Rugby season concludes.
Ireland begin the inaugural campaign of the nation's championship in Sydney before taking on Japan in Newcastle a week later and finishing the southern hemisphere leg with a trip to Eden Park to face New Zealand on the 18th of July.
And finally for you today, former Wales international George North has announced he'll retire from rugby at the end of the season.
He said he's lived out a childhood dream after playing for Scarlets, Northampton, Ospreys and Provence in France, who he currently represents.
North played 121 times for Wales before walking away from the international game in 2024.
He also went on two tours with the British and Irish Lions in 2013 and 2017.
He became the first Welshman to play in four World Cup quarter-finals and in his debut tournament in 2011, he became the youngest ever World Cup try-scorer at 19 years, 166 days.
