So I think that there's going to be a lot more focus on trying to push up rents.

But I think, as I said from the outset, that the challenge that I see in some properties is going to be the capacity to push them much higher than they already are, given how much rents have already increased.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that is the case.

And obviously, if you already have investment properties, you can negatively gear those as well.

So as you've said, there's the privileged that already owned properties and are now able to negatively gear into the future.

And there's those that didn't and can't.

And I guess...

And they've grandfathered these changes, but one of the options they could have said is you can negatively gear for the next five years and then no one can negatively gear.

But they chose not to go down that path.

I would suspect it's not accounted for in the budget because they probably don't think it's going to happen.

They won't let it happen.
