Honestly, there's a huge possibility na mangyari yan. But here is my question for you. What happens if you stay quiet? What happens kung magtitiis ka na lang just to keep the peace? Let's talk about that in the next part. I want you to imagine this. A few months from now, you're married.
Tapos, ikaw as the bride, ayaw mo namang ikaw ang gagastos for the wedding, naging okay naman. Natapos naman ang wedding na karaos. Tapos, nag-asawa na kayo ngayon. Congrats!
Not because of the wedding itself, but because deep inside, she knows she carried it all. Now, fast forward pa tayo ulit. Six months into marriage. Six months naman kayong kasal. You're juggling multiple clients. Marami kang deadlines na hinahabol. Magluluto ka pa, maglalaba, maglilinis ng bahay.
And your husband, he's still very, very sweet. Mabait pa rin. Hindi siya ng bababae. Pero every time, may kailangan kayong bayaran. Electric bill, grocery, insurance, may nagkasakit sa pamilya, may emergency. Your chest tightens. Naiisip mo na agad. Ako na naman ang gagastos nito.
Then, bago ka matulog, you scroll through your phone and nakita mo yung friends mo. Nagpo-post ng travel photos niya. Boracay, Palawan, Cebu. Wait, may out of the country pa. Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong. She will try to bake a cake. Then, you opened Reddit and found a post na may 5M pesos na saving siya.
Not because you don't have money but because every time may dumadagdag na gasto sa inyo, you already know. Ikaw ang sasalo. Then fast forward ulit tayo. Dumating na yung first wedding anniversary ninyo.
One year na kayong kasal, you're starting to dream smaller. You no longer say, pangarap kong magkaroon ng ganito. Magkakaroon din ako niyan balang araw. You now say, pwede na to. Or sabi nga ni Mami Grace, okay na to.
You've adjusted so much. You've compromised so much to the point na you shrink yourself for him. You're no longer sure kung sino ka ba or kung ito ba talaga yung buhay na ginusto mo. You've stopped asking for help not because you're okay. Pero kasi napagod ka nalang umasa na one day babawi rin siya sayo because that day never came.
Then one night, bigla ka nalang naiyak. Hindi dahil may ginawa siyang masama. Hindi naman siya nang bababae. Hindi ka niya sinasaktan. But because you feel alone in a marriage that's supposed to be shared with the love of your life. And the worst part, you realize you never even gave him the chance to step up because you never spoke up. Ito yung naging consequence of you staying silent.
Minsan, it's the slow build-up of unmet needs, yung unti-unting naipo na pagod at sacrifices and silent resentments.
Hindi mo kailangang tiisin yung ganito for the rest of your life. If you will have the courage to start the conversation about finances, kahit sa maliliit na expenses muna, baka magulat ka kasi baka mamaya misunderstanding lang pala yan.
What if handa naman pala siyang makinig at mag-take action? What if kailangan mo lang marinig at maintindihan yung side niya? What if hindi pala siya aware na ganito na pala yung nararamdaman mo sa relationship ninyo? Baka naman kaya pang mapag-usapan yan. Sa last part ng episode na ito, let's talk about how you can rewrite this story.
Paano kung this time, hindi lang ikaw ang kikilos, kundi kayo na talaga as a team? You are not demanding. You are building a future together. So, here you are. Pakiramdam mo, responsibilidad mo ang bayaran yung combined expenses ninyo. You've stayed silent longer than you should have.
And let me tell you this with all the love I have for every bride listening. Number one, you are not being dramatic. And number two, your feelings are valid. Yes, love is important sa marriage. But it won't survive na love lang ang meron kayo. Love cannot pay the bills. Right? So, for me,
You're being a very responsible woman who knows what she deserves. It's also about building something sustainable. Now, imagine an alternate story. One where you sit your partner down tapos pinakinggan niya yung mga gusto mong sabihin. Siguro sa simula, he gets quiet o kaya magiging defensive siya. Normal yun.
But because you spoke with respect and not with blame, he begins to understand kung ano yung mga pinagdadaanan mo. Pinag-usapan ninyo yung income and expenses ninyo, nagbigay kayo ng suggestions ninyo how to improve your current situation.
Maybe he starts small, paying for the water bill, additional 1K sa savings, or sisimula na niyang humanap ng side hustle for extra income. And slowly, you stop feeling like you're in this alone. You begin to feel seen, you begin to feel supported, you begin to feel like this marriage na papasukin mo, it's something you're truly building together.
Kasi sa totoo lang, if you can talk about money right now, how are you going to face bigger things later sa marriage ninyo? Marriage isn't just about romance.
It's about supporting each other through job loss, emergency bills, kids' tuitions, and family obligations. And the couples who last, hindi naman sila yung mga couple na never na nag-away.
