Am I going to need a million in super, $1.2 million, or $1.8 million in super?

You get some ideas as to how long you want that money to last, whether it keeps up with inflation, whether you're going to leave an estate behind, so that you can actually start having a figure going, wow, I need $1.6 million in super if I want to be able to achieve this goal.

Now, that's not to put pressure on yourself at all because we're already doing our best anyway, but having that figure is quite an awakening moment.

So my favourite calculator to use is actually the Noel Whittaker calculator because he shows you, you know, you can put it into day's dollars, how much you want.

You can put in an estimation for inflation, which most people would say around about 2.5%, maybe 3% if you want.

And you can put...

Play around with figures as to how much you retire, and it will show you exactly how long that will last, and you can play around with the returns.

So if you're, say, a growth investor and you plan on keeping that growth profile, you'd keep it at, say, a net figure of 7.5%, maybe 8% per annum.

You can see how long that will last.

That will then give you a figure as to roughly how much you are going to realistically need in super.

Now, it's a guide.

Obviously, it's not exact and it's certainly not advice.

But it is a great wake-up call for so many people because a lot of people, and this is the danger of all the averages that get put in the media, it really downplays the reality of what people actually need.

And this is great because you now have that information and

And you will subconsciously even start making better decisions with your money and understand, gosh, I really need to pay more attention here.

And of course, the earlier you discover this, the easier it's going to be because you can get the wheels in motion.

And that's why I sort of touched on it just then.

You know, just checking to make sure your employer is doing the right thing by you.

And the person who's going to benefit from this, you know, change in legislation is you because you've got money going into the market sooner.
