Yes, absolutely.
You go into your private area with your trained pharmacist who will ask you a number of questions, make an assessment, a diagnosis and then an appropriate treatment.
It's really quite akin to how your conversation would go with the GP.
Yeah, this is a big, big moment for pharmacy, as you said, because it's the first time that pharmacists themselves have been recognised as prescribers in their own right for these eight conditions.
And whilst we are the medicine's experts at our core, this is also another string to our bow and massive help we can give in our communities and free up GP time.
And the Minister has been very clear
that she sees a path for an expanded role for pharmacy.

I mean, this is another service that you can avail of in community pharmacy.
So in terms of how it works, it is a private service.
So there will be a professional fee attached to the pharmacist consultation element of it.
So I can't speak for all pharmacies, but what I can speak for is Boots.
So in all of our Boots stores, it will be €35 for the consultation.
And then the treatment outcome varies.
So if it's an over-the-counter treatment, that will be as you currently would pay for an over-the-counter treatment.
