As soon as I got sober, I said to my team at the time, I have to get in the studio.
And they were like, sure.
So many people are like, you really have to want to do this.
And I'm like, I get it.
I really need to.
I don't know what it's going to be yet.
You know, I've had many iterations of doing music and being in the studio.
But again, I would mold myself into whoever the producer wanted me to be.
And I was like, oh my God, I can do that or this.
And it just never felt right.
So I just started from the get-go.
And in that first week of sessions, every single one of those songs is on this album.
That first week was so...
Like the first song is The Mask, which will come out.
And then, I don't know, Every Day was one of these songs and they were really heavy.
Those first group of songs were really heavy.
And over that period of time, I was like, I was finding the joy in it.
I was finding my voice in it.
I was trusting my creative instinct more.
I don't know.
