And
This is sort of why each of them heads off in these different directions and gets into trouble.
But ultimately, each of those plot lines come back to that central mystery over what's going on in the port.
Yeah, I think it is one of those books that...
It's got laugh out loud lines in it.
A few little annoying things.
Like what?
Well, the annoying thing about they, initially the church, the local church where the lost lambs meet, they have a gnat problem in terms of, you know, flying insects.
Yeah, G-N-A-T.
G-N-A-T, gnat.
And so suddenly every time the letters N-A-T appear in any word in the book, a G is added regardless of the word.
And it's like a little affectation really, which...
like donation donations becomes dog nations dog nation so yeah and it's sort of um and i don't know if it's clever or annoying really um uh and i don't think it was it it matters by the by because you know as i said that there's laugh out loud lines in this it's so clever
you know, with so many of the characterizations and the dysfunction on this family.

I mean, you know, as Cassie said, Harper is just, you know, adorable, the youngest.
Honestly, if you'd just focused on those three and they'd left the sort of central mystery alone and we just concentrated on Bud and Catherine and the three daughters and how, you know, their lives are going to turn out, I would have got just as much enjoyment.
I mean, I didn't realise it had been sold.
