Not all of them allow cross-border money movement.
That's also a little bit of a gap, right?
There's certain pockets of individuals or businesses that maybe aren't on the network yet, so we don't have kind of full ubiquitous reach.
And then as we talked about,
Moving cash 24-7 through 65 within a network is one thing.
Being able to manage what I call end-to-end working capital is totally another thing.
Being able to purchase and renew money market funds or treasuries or leverage credit lines and the whole in and outside of that.
There's some really big gaps there that do need to be addressed.
Now, what's the right way to do it?
I think there's multiple options that are going to compete.
Right.
So I know for a fact, right, you know, different industries, different parts of the industry, banks, consortiums, et cetera, are looking at how do we use tokenized deposits and cash at financial institutions to help enable a bridge into some of these other things.
I know tokenized deposits and cash is being used by a lot of banks to overcome some technology debt to be able to move money on their own rails faster 24-7 between branches, cross-branch, cross-multicurrency, et cetera.
It's also a nice way if you have a private chain on a bank and you can tokenize other securities, right, like money market funds and treasuries and other things that we mentioned, you can really build a working capital life cycle to be able to exchange those type of things.
But then there is a question around, well, what happens in the market?
If everybody in the global ecosystem has their own kind of private on-chain experience, how do you transact, right, between counterparties that maybe are at this bank or that bank or in this region and that region that have different kind of bank partners?
And I think that's what a lot of the industry is kind of thinking about and trying to solve for.
Swift has taken one approach to this where they are looking at interbank token ledgers and saying, how do we build a ledger to do interbank token settlement?
BNY is working with them and a lot of banks globally to try to figure out how can we work together doing token settlement interbank on a new ledger methodology within Swift to solve for this.
I know others in the market are trying to solve for this as well.
