What happened was I was able to believe that Calder wasn't gone, but I was still in a prolonged period of grief just because I was stuck in it.

But I knew I had to, if I wanted to pursue meditating and maybe being able to connect and learning more, that I had to get off the prescriptions that the doctor was keeping me on.

I had to clean up my act.

And so it took me probably—

Another six months before, I was like, okay, I want to read everything I can about this and figure it out and see what's possible.

In the beginning of my grief, a friend of mine's sister had died, and she got a manuscript of Laura's The Light Between Us.

And she gave it to me, and she said, don't tell anyone.

This is, you know, it's not with the publisher yet, and they're trying to make the deal, and you shouldn't tell anyone I gave it to you.

And I thought, okay.

And it's so funny.

Human nature.

And when I told Laura that years later because I met her by then, she was like, that's hilarious.

Because of course she was like, of course you got it.

That makes total sense to me.

So – Okay.
