Talk to me about propolis.

What is that word?

What does it mean when we're shopping for bee products?

Okay, so propolis is another thing that the bees make.

They make honey.

They also make propolis.

Propolis you can think of as the bee's immune system.

It literally comes from plant and tree resins.

So think of the immunoproperties of the plant itself.

The bees are collecting that, mixing it with their enzymes, and then they make propolis.

And they use it to line the entire hive and keep it germ-free.

And for newborn baby bees, they actually line the cell wall with propolis to create a sterile environment for newborns.

So for the bees, it is how they protect themselves from germs, bacteria, pathogens, anything that could hurt them.

And for humans, we can really use it in the same way to protect our body from any of the toxins, any of the bacteria that we're exposed to and help to really bring inflammation down.

It's cold and flu season as we speak.

What are Americans doing on a day-to-day basis that is not helping when it's this time of the year and everybody's getting sick?

So much.

I feel like the conversation around immunity has always been reactive.

It's like, okay, I get sick.

I hate getting sick.
