So we start with just simple sounds and we build up to words and then longer utterances, including.
Yeah.
And then at the advanced level, we're working on generalizing that oral resonance into everyday speech.
So we want them to be using that correct oral resonance in conversation and generalizing that oral airflow to other environments as well, not just in our speech therapy room.
And then that's the resonance one.
Okay.
So then next is our voice curriculum.
So this is for helpful for children and teens who are frequently speaking with a voice that is hoarse or raspy or breathy or airy, a voice that sounds like they're straining to force it out, or if it sounds gravelly or crackly or growly.
Any of those vocal qualities.
So for this, again, make sure you get that ENT clearance, but then you can start working on teaching the beginning level is reducing vocal strain and tension.
So we're going to be work on teaching them how the voice works and we're going to teach some relaxation techniques to help ease that tension.
And then we can try some very simple strategies like the yon sigh and the easy onset to help them ease into speech instead of forcing it out.
Then we can move up to the intermediate level, which is improving vocal quality.
And on this one, we're going to use a frontal focus resonance to improve vocal quality, which basically is taking it out of down here in the voice where it's really tense in the voice and putting it up here in the nay in the nasal area and pushing that resonance up so that it is.
Kind of vibrating in the face and not causing tension down in the voice.
Okay.
And then our advanced level here is controlling the pitch loudness and endurance to be able to reduce that strain, building up some endurance so that they can speak for longer times without having to go into that really gravelly voice.
And then being able to self-monitor their use of their strategies.
