Well, I called to talk about strategy of curling, but the first thing you should know about Joyce is that she is known in the Pittsburgh Curling Club as the person that brings shots to curling.
Actual shots, like alcoholic shots.
There you go, Bob.
Curling is an excuse to drink.
I thought rugby was that sport.
It's, you know, like if you play cornhole or lawn darts or whatever, you always do that with a beer in your hand.
Same with curling.
So the opposing skip, the two skips are at the far end calling the shots.
And when you sweep a rock, what you are doing is you're microscopically melting the ice to cause the rock to hop up on that layer of ice and hydroplane, so it goes further.
right oh my god so so when the when the opposing skip sees a rock coming at him
And you, your team wants that rock to stop in the house.
The opposing team will come and start sweeping it to carry it further, to carry it further than you want it to go.
We'll watch that right now.
The only time the other team is allowed to sweep is once it has crossed halfway through the house.
So there's a horizontal line splitting the bullseye in the middle, and once the rock has crossed over that line, the opponent can take over and try to sweep it out.
