And so then a couple minutes later, I went back upstairs and I said, wow, when I came in here, I don't think my approach was great because I felt like it took us right back to a couple months ago.
And her whole little body softened.
like, yeah, I felt like that, too.
And I said, okay.
You know, we've already we've been there.
We've done it.
We've made changes.
We've had conversation.
I'm going to I'm just going to check myself a little bit better when I need to have conversations with you.
And she was so appreciative.
And it just like snap of the fingers shifted us right back into a place of connection.
So,
not about always showing up perfectly, but it's this is what I say to parents.
At least you know that you handled things poorly.
That's a forward step
God, I blew that, right?
gosh, darn it, those kids, blah, blah, blah, you know?
And so I think that that can't be understated.
It's just once we know better, we do better.
Or at least we recognize we haven't and we make amends to make things right.
