And so this two or three year old child is thinking like my life rules.
Right.
I have these two parents.
They're attentive.
They take me places.
They celebrate me.
I'm feeling really good.
I'm feeling really encouraged.
And, you know, mom and dad, mom and mom, dad, dad, whatever the family system is.
Spend lots of time reading books and talking about this new baby and how great it's going to be and how what a great big sibling their child is going to be.
And, you know, little big sibling is thinking, OK, still pretty abstract for the two or three year old.
And then baby shows up.
And so the two or three year old watches, sees his grownups, her grownups making all different kinds of choices and decisions.
And maybe they're sleep deprived.
They're spending lots of time with this baby.
And what about me?
And interpreting the situation, making meaning.
With their two or three year old brain that could sound like, wow, I must not really matter very much.
