The opening of the book is very powerful and it sort of explains, I think, the process, the writer process in this novel and decisions that are made around it, I think.
So I'm going to ask you, why did you write you?
Well, did the writer write you?
The writer, the book, the character, the older one.

And that's why you don't give your young woman a name.

I think that's why so many people change their names when they get an order, because they can.
As I said, it seems on the surface a very ordinary story, but it also reads quite like a thriller, because we're constantly on a knife edge about how the girl is going to deceive her parents, about her meeting a particular boy, and about these feelings that she's experiencing for the first time.
So how did you get back to those specifics of adolescence?
and writing the book because it's so very fresh it's so immediate and so detailed.
I was struck by that moment because I thought, no, that's not the moment to put the condom on.
The young girl carries on, doesn't tell her friends, well actually he didn't even have an erection.
So I couldn't say that.
