It's not even funny because she seems quite insane, actually, with her over-vigilance, hyper-vigilance.
And so what happens is, because of this diary entry that is not true, everybody in the book, the girl is forbidden from seeing the young man again, forbidden from seeing her friends, moving house, and everything sort of comes to that natural, well, not natural, unnatural end.
One of the great themes of this book is the father crying and saying, it isn't easy being human, which I think is one of the overriding themes of the book.
But the girl witnesses her father, the victim of my writing, not she is alone.
They have violated her privacy, which I think is a very important thing to say by reading her diary.
But also it's a catalyst because she remembers now that even this moment isn't really the point.
There's another secret that the family has that her parents cover up.
And that's the moment I think that the girl kind of is aware of it.
Because he's usually quite indifferent.
It's quite remote, isn't it?
Too late.
That language, though, is quite extraordinary that you use.
It seems so overly dramatic, but it isn't.
She describes her home as a crime scene.
I lay as if on a bed of nails.
Mortal Kombat was taking place inside me.
I was a battlefield.
