I think sometimes another barrier that people can think of is not only the space itself, but like the physical items.
When...
I think speech therapists are initially introduced to sensory as a term.
I often hear it used as like,
I do sensory, right?
And then that often means like I have a sensory bin in my office and therefore I do sensory.
Yeah, and so we sometimes limit ourselves to what can be used in the actual items too that we introduce, or we think of it only being used in one way.
Like that is only mainly tactile, right?
In terms of the input, right?
One thing that inside out, excuse me, has opened my eyes to, and so many other therapists is like all of these other nuances to the delivery, like intensity, you know, you can,
up the intensity, lower the intensity, a child's arousal level, and then you're looking at them as individuals.
And maybe we'll get into that a little bit later in the episode, but you also look at their own, that individual sensory system and how I approach you is different than how I approach this other person.
So I think those are all things that don't require items, don't require the physical space to necessarily be perfect.
And so it's exciting when you get to open people's minds to that.

And to circle back to that strength that clinic offers that setting, when I was talking about parents and collaborating with them, that's a great thing because parents don't walk around and can't like put our offices in, you know, their backpack and take it with them.

Like, and so we teach them and help them understand how, when you're at home, when you're at the park, when you're at a family gathering, when you're like the list goes on and on at schools, um,
