how you can help your child adapt, advocate for their sensory needs, how you can educate others on signs, you know, to look for things to already have set up.

It's just all of those are considerations too.

Every situation's a little bit different.

So I would say my number one tip is just to put right front and center that, that mutual respect.

And when I say that, I mean like for their schedules and time limitations, and then that, you know, would be reciprocated back to you.

I think also we've been talking recently on when this is, when we're going through this interview, we've, um,

We've had some things on the team that we've talked about with how do we help others get on board with an ND affirming approach, neurodiversity affirming approach.

And it's often, you know, not in anything, it's not helpful to come at someone and tell them what they're doing wrong or tell them how they could be doing it better and giving them, overwhelming them with too much information.

That applies here too.

So that's why I say every situation is different.

I would find sometimes exchange of emails would be helpful.

Or better yet, hopping on a quick phone call because there's so much that we can exchange in a five to seven minute phone call than playing email tag back and forth.

And even if we just did that a few times in a four to six month period, that was always so helpful.

I know that that's not always possible.

carry messages back and forth I know that that could be difficult so you just kind of have to find what works for that other therapist because what they might be working on in the schools what their schedule and stuff might be so different therapist to therapist but

there's a collaborative piece that you can help contribute to that.

I mean, think of a lot of SLPs when they're going through their graduate program, that's a beauty of a graduate program, right?

You have these other people who are interested in this field as you are, and you get to collaborate with your cohort, right?

As soon as we enter the workforce, a lot of that goes away.
