And the incoherence runs all the way to Trump potentially even countering our own allies when he said if Oman gets in the way, we'll bomb the shit out of them.
These are not competing strategies.
This is the absence of a strategy.
If Trump, Rubio, Hegeseth, Vance, and the COCOM commanders cannot agree on which objectives rank first in this operation, then nothing downstream of these decisions can be coherent either.
And so that brings me to contradiction number eight.
This is a man that campaigned against open ended Middle East wars with no definition of victory.
He is now running one.
So Trump's unpredictability is becoming dangerous.
It's pushing countries like Russia and China towards more belligerent decisions.
Strategic unpredictability can be useful against an enemy.
But allies need the opposite.
South Korea needs to know whether America fights if it is attacked.
