There is no calculation about hurt versus help because we can only help ourselves by doing what we are currently doing.

What's the alternative?

To cave and say, okay, we will forever do whatever you allow us to do with you and with no one else because that's the proposition we're facing.

We are not in a sane negotiation environment here.

We are in a, you will do my bidding or else I will come after whoever else wants to play with you in the schoolyard.

So it's kind of useless to use political analysis skills to say maybe we should do less of that because we would help ourselves more with the U.S.

This is a beyond help situation, I would argue, when it comes to the U.S.
