And time and time again, they worked out what they thought they had to say in order to get people to behave differently.
And they said it.
Now, in a war, that sort of behavior can be defensible.
But you can't claim that you're anything other than a consequentialist propagandist who's trying to deceive people for what you think is their own good.
But that's not how Fauci sees himself.

And the diaries, as if it wasn't already, make that abundantly clear, among other things.
Yeah, and to protect themselves, because Fauci clearly believed that he was implicated by the Wuhan lab, and therefore he wanted to make it seem as if the COVID virus came from bats.
Funny, one of my colleagues watching this hearing tweeted out, bat got your tongue, which I thought was a perfect summary of the whole thing.
One thing I do find interesting, I must say, is Trump gets absolutely no blame here when, of course, he was the president at the time and was very much enthusiastic about the vaccine.
I like that about Trump.
I actually think this is something in Trump's favor.
I think there is no other person in probably the history of the United States who could have got the vaccine done as fast as Trump did because he just doesn't care about niceties.
But if you don't like the vaccine, maybe you should be more cross with Trump.

I mean, look, this is a guy...
