I do want to point out that
And this is very apropos for the day that we are observing the history of what it is of people, of Black people in America standing firm and being resolved that they are on the right side of right.
And yet again, this is something that falls directly in line with this at a point when the administration has so characteristically attempted to overplay its hand.
And I think that that warrants noting, if there is any tradition, Don, that you have remained a part of, and this is before today, sure, but certainly encapsulated in this current conversation,
It is the tradition of standing on the right side of right, despite the cacophony of noise that we will hear from naysayers and people who do not wish us well, as we simply stand trying to fulfill the promise of American democracy, more so than the people who are deriding us for doing it.
And so I do think that warrants, you know, from a big picture standpoint, some pointing out.
So I want to pick up exactly where my new nickname is that man, by the way, but go on.
You are that man.
I want to pick up where Monique left off in terms of the incompetence of this administration, because there's a very important point here.
When I read and listened to Harmeet Dhillon's comments, one of the things that struck me was that we have sort of taken too many of us.
have approached this as water under the bridge, that this DOJ is openly trying to execute the will of the executive branch, which is not the function of the DOJ.
I want to be very, very clear about this.
The justification
that the DOJ is using and connecting what it is that you were allegedly standing in the way of and connecting that to the White House is inappropriate.
It's highly inappropriate in terms of the function and purpose of how the DOJ operates.
And it is yet another display of the incompetence of this DOJ's leadership.
The other thing that I want to say from a procedural standpoint, because Monique did a wonderful job laying out the law, I want to go a little bit further.
and sort of make the distinction, particularly for your audience, for everything that Monique just explained and all of it being legally sound, none of this means that this administration will not attempt to file an indictment against Dom.
There is a difference between not moving forward and moving forward knowing that you have no game plan.
And the incompetence and the lack of credibility of this administration has shown us repeatedly vis-a-vis James Comey, vis-a-vis Letitia James on more than one occasion, and vis-a-vis a few other cases that we can talk about, that they are not averse to filing cases that they know that they cannot win.
