Let's say like, you know, I see that you're on a softball league.

I played softball.

That's actually not like, there's no reason that I'm necessarily gonna reply to your email because we both love softball.

But what you're really saying is I'm proving to you that I wanna connect.

I'm making an overture.

I'm not just dropping you an email because you're a famous person and you're like, I said 30 of them today.

I actually spent some time, I'm making what's known as a bid for a connection.
