So this is a massive increase in not just the size of the organization, but the demographics of it.
You know, this had been a much a kind of old tweety group of people for the most part before this moment.
And by their own statistics, the median age of a DSA member after twenty sixteen drops from sixty eight to thirty three.
And so these people do a lot of things inside of DSA.
They start new chapters in cities on college campuses, places where there had not been DSA chapters before.
And they start organizing campaigns and they start running for office themselves.
And in twenty eighteen,

Along the way they're winning city council races in a lot of cities all over the country, and you know, state assembly seats, things like that at the local level.
And then in twenty twenty five they have this real breakthrough.
When Zoran Mamdani is elected mayor of New York City.

Eugene Depps, the socialist presidential candidate from the early twentieth century.
