for the Jets and Cardinals to really pass on a guy that was given a starter grade so there's no Miles Garrett there's no Bosa brothers Aiden Hutchinson no Joe Waltz you know no Jamar Chase none of the prospects in this draft are in that league where you can say this guy is just too good and we're willing to you know potentially not draft a long-term starter at quarterback
Well, I have Mendoza ahead of him just because I think Mendoza is a little bit safer.
You have a bigger sample size to do the work on him in terms of multiple years as a starter and multiple years of success and putting up points.
and doing it with different systems and teammates and things like that.
So he's a little safer, thus I give the nod to Mendoza.
But I think Ty Simpson is very underrated right now nationally.
I think he is an excellent quarterback.
He put that Alabama team on his back and carried them into the playoffs.
They couldn't run the ball worth a damn all season.
When you look at how bad they ran the ball, it's shocking for Alabama and what we think of that program.
Defensively, they did not have a team loaded with first-rounders at each position group on defense the way we became accustomed to them in the Saban years.
He put the team on his back.
He didn't have great receivers.
They were solid, but he carried them into the playoffs, made some incredible throws under pressure, really was just playing at a super high efficient level.
Then late in the season, he had some injuries and kind of battled through it.
They eventually get handled by Indiana along with everyone else.
But I think he really showed a lot of grit.
He showed accuracy.
He was smart.
