I think something important for people to understand generally about when we talk about the anger that a lot of establishment Democrats feel around Bernie Sanders supporting primary challengers or Zoran supporting primary challengers or David Hogg supporting primary challengers is that there is something called an incumbency advantage, which is beyond just the personal politics that people feel
It is true that historically the precedent is that when you have an incumbent in office, the odds are higher that they can win in a general.
So there is political reasoning that somebody might want the incumbent to be running in the primary or in the general.
However, that's not what this feels like to me.
What this feels like is a fear of a leftist movement, a fear of challengers to the establishment, to people like Bernie, like AOC.
like Zoran, like all of our amazing candidates that just won the DSA back candidates in New York, that there is a chapter, the page is turning.
And Hakeem Jeffries, he is associated with the previous chapter.
He is associated with Chuck Schumer, who we've talked many times about in that era of politics.
And so this is a threat to him,
to his elected position but also to his theory of politics generally as well um the more young the more progressive the more leftist candidates that come into the fold uh the more likely it is that he's going to be unseated very soon um so it's a threat to him and i think it's very selfish for him to go after these folks like this i don't know what do you think

valuable and important voices right now and for the last three years, unfortunately, are American Jews, are anti-Zionist American Jews or liberal Zionists like Brad Lander, or Jews who just oppose what's going on in Gaza and don't have a label for themselves, but know what they're saying is disgusting and horrendous.

disgust and anger that over the last three years um it feels like you know my name my family is being used and leveraged to justify a genocide and that's like that is not what judaism was to me it's not what it is to me it's not how i was raised judaism in my family was first and foremost absolutely um
