There's already a lot of parallels to BTS here with their seven members making their way overseas over a century later.
A group of these students made a recording on a wax cylinder at the Library of Congress
that was taken by a folklorist named Alice Cunningham Fletcher.
And that wax cylinder is the first recording anywhere, including in Korea, of this song, Arirang.
So hats off to BTS for uncovering this incredible bit of cross-cultural music history.
